Today is a little sad. 12 years ago today, Michael Hutchence of INXS died from an apparent hanging. His death was ruled a suicide, but most people think that he accidentally killed himself partaking autoerotic asphyxiation. So, it wasn't bad enough that he died, but he also probably went out in a very embarrassing way. Nevertheless, none of that changes the fact that he was a very charismatic singer of damn fine band. So, here are a trio of INXS videos: www.youtube.com/watch?v=01LVE1aEO6g (Can't be embedded) www.youtube.com/watch?v=d8-ypxiIsIM (Also can't be embedded)

Today, we have a video for a song about committing suicide by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. Why the Golden Gate Bridge? Well, it's the most popular place to commit suicide in the United States and the second most popular in the world. About 30 people per year jump off the bridge and the mortal coil at the same time. So, this band wrote a song about it. Why? Well, why not!? Here's Sleater-Kinney's "Jumpers":

So, um...I'm a little late posting today's video. As you all know, it's Thanksgiving. So, my mom, brother, and me drove to Cabot to eat turkey at my uncle's house. And, his internet has been down. That's why I'm so late with the video. Anyway, for today's video, I wanted to post a video that had a Thanksgiving theme. However, there haven't really been a lot of songs written about Thanksgiving. It's not like Christmas, which has a whole catalogue of songs. So, here's a loose connection: Thanksgiving is about spending time with family. There is a Hall and Oates song called "Family Man." So, here it is:

Today, here's a nice little ditty about a balloon starting a nuclear war. It's Nena's "99 Luftballons!"

Crazy Week continues with a request. This one comes from an old friend of mine who goes simply by Raven. And, he writes:
"Dear Hulk Kasem,
I've really been enjoying your Video Of The Day thread. Each day, I watch the videos with excite while I eat the 32nd flavor of Baskin Robins ice cream (it taste like chocolate, oranges, and shame). Anyway, this Crazy Week got me really excited. So much so that I've been doing nice things, like drive my dad somewhere. I just recently driving my dad somewhere, but I got lost and couldn't finish. I was hoping you could help. David Lee Roth always seems to help me get to my destination, so I was wondering if you would play his video "Goin' Crazy." I would really appreciate it.
Your friend,
Raven."
Well, Raven, this one is for you, friend:

Today, we get a pair of videos from two of my favorite bands. First, we have Pink Floyd's "Brain Damage/Eclipse":
For the second video, we have the Pixies' "Where Is My Mind?" Now, this isn't the official video, but I decided to post this one because that song and the movie "Fight Club" have become more intertwined than rope. So, here's a video of clips from that movie playing over the song:

Crazy Week continues with another pair of videos. First, from Cypress Hill, we have "Insane In The Membrane" (explicit lyrics warning): Next, we have a classic from Prince. Here's "Lets Go Crazy" (Also, thank God for Dailymotion. I don't know why Prince won't let his music play on Youtube. Maybe he just likes Dailymotion better. Or maybe it's some kind of copyright thing and Dailymotion's all like "Fuck it! Play the songs anyway. If the Purple Man don't like it, then he can suck my nuts!): www.dailymotion.com/video/x3vx4e_lets-go-crazyyprince-the-revolution_music

Well, today marks the end of Crazy Week. I'm a little sad. But, I'll get over it. Okay, let's get on with it, shall we? Since the week began with a song and a cover, we'll end with the same thing. Here's "Mad World," the Tears For Fears original and the Gary Jules cover: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ZRib_aAQFQ

Okay, today we get a trio of videos. Why? Well, during Crazy Week, there was a video I had planned on posting: Aerosmith's "Crazy." But, here's the thing. I also wanted to post the other two videos that go with it (it was part of a trio that featured Alicia Silverstone in each one): "Cryin'" and "Amazing." But, those didn't fit the crazy criteria. So, I decided to just wait until Sunday. That way, it's sort of still with those other crazy videos. So, without further ado, here are those three videos: Cryin' www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2I4mZQmJMUAmazing www.youtube.com/watch?v=xX4br4w9g5ECrazy www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFaBKg5iEwU
