(WHat a great return post, eh?)
It's simple. What's an obsession of your's at the moment, and why? Come on, we all have them. Don't give me that coy look.
Obsession: Gary Oldman.
Why: His brilliance with accents, and he's fantastically intense in any role he delves into. From the eccentric tyrant that is Jean-Baptiste Emmanuel Zorg (The Fifth Element), the ultra-suave Vlad Dracul (Francis Ford Coppola presents Bram Stoker's Dracula) to the sideshow freak that is Hannibal Lector's only surviving victim, Mason Verger (Hannibal) and to reckless Sirius Black (Harry Potter films), Gary Oldman is sure to entertain and astound with his performances. He's an amazing actor, but stays well-away from the celebrity scene. He's reportdly one of the better-adjusted people in the Hollywood scene. As for movies, he can easily steal a scene..And look quite handsome while doing it -most of the time-.

Don't know if this counts, but I just started re-reading Garth Ennis' Preacher comics for what must be the 5th or 6th time. Unlike the more complex books like Watchmen or Grant Morrison's New X-Men (which I also enjoy immensely) there's no need to look below the surface, so to speak. Everything's laid out in front of you, but not in a way that makes it simplistic. It's just a great read & about the only comic I've ever read with believable dialogue from an Irish character (of course, it would take an Irishman to write for an Irishman, right?) So, sorry, Lady Dark, if I missed the point. But this comic is something that consumes my every waking moment at this point in time.

No, no, you got the point quite fine. I've been wanting to check out the Preacher comics and you have me pretty convinced I should check'em out..

I didn't think I did that great a job of pimping them, but it's easily the most enjoyable series I've read. Any comic that contains a page wherein a character shouts nothing but "DOOM-COCK!!!" over & over again is worthy of high-praise. It's violent, funny, well-scripted, superbly-plotted & the art is beautiful. There's my shilling done. Garth Ennis should be paying me for this.

Speaking of comics, I recently read the whole series of Wanted after being forced to by my good friend Y Master Flash. He was so upset with the movie adaptation and he wanted me to know why. After reading the series, I agree. A concept where the super villians have taken over, a world with no heroes, and where every featured character in the whole freaking story are (as WC puts it) scumbags. I'd perfer heartless, selfish assholes but whatever.
Needless to say, after reading it, and seeing the trailers for the movie... I get what Y was saying.

Medieval II: Total War.
I've spent some serious time doing modifications based off of one of the more successful major mods, but unfortunately I've kind of found it addicting. I don't want to play any other game.

Older gaming, actually. A few old Doom videos on Youtube made me nostalgic, so I pulled my SNES out of the closet recently, and I've hooked it up in place of the Gamecube to my TV. I'd forgotten all about it--it's like seeing an old friend again, really.

I'm watching the entire series of Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Angel. They are actually both pretty damn good.

I've been on a little bit of a David Bowie kick lately. I blame that new show on ABC Live On Mars (the name comes from a Bowie song of the same name, which was played on the first episode).

Y'know what I took a notion to re-read? The whole Avengers: Disassembled storyline, including the individual Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Spectacular Spider-Man & Fantastic Four tie-ins (I even re-read the two immediate follow-up trades, Great Lakes Avengers: Misassembled & Young Avengers: Sidekicks). I quickly realized the whole thing makes no sense. I'd assumed all thse events were happening simultaneously, but they can't possibly be happening simultaneously due to all the crossing over of characters. Best thing to do is just read Great Lakes Avengers: Misassembled & laugh your arse off.

On a similar note, started to re-read DC's Identity Crisis, much better. I may re-read all the stuff right up to Infinite Crisis too. I'm not sure yet.
